Class Coordinators

While Class Coordinators aren’t necessarily part of the P&C, information is stored here for easy reference.

The Class Coordinator role is an important position in our School. They are a contact point for the class teacher and a representative of the parents / carers of their class.

Over the past year and continuing into 2024, the school has been focusing on streamlining its communication amongst the school community. Thus, the role of the Class Coordinator will be slightly different this year.

Each class requires one coordinator who will be in charge of communication with the entire class. For those classes who are a split class, you will only need one representative i.e. the Class Coordinator is responsible for the CLASS, not their child’s year group only.

Please note - You are welcome to share this role with someone else if you wish.

In 2024, the Class Coordinator will be responsible for:

• Setting up the class WhatsApp group for correspondence within the class parent body .

• Touch base with the class teacher intermittently. This may be as feedback on behalf of the class families or to discuss upcoming activities. It is also a great opportunity to see if there is any correspondence or reminders to pass on to parents / carers.

• Assisting with organising in class rosters (only if required and applicable) for your class.

** Year 5 & 6 Parents Please note – Nat Gasmier is responsible for organising volunteers for Graduation Morning Tea, Yr 6 Camp t-shirt coordination, Social Dance decorating, Graduation decoration. This is not left to you! **

In the past, some Class Coordinators have chosen to do some of the tasks listed below. Please note this is NOT required of the person in the role, but they may choose to do some of these IF THEY WISH:

• Organise a communal Christmas gift from the class by collecting money and purchasing a gift.

• Arrange social activities for the class parents / carers with or without students.

• Collate a Contact List for the class, if required, for those who wish to be included.

All Class Coordinators will have the contact details of those coordinators whose classes are in the same year group. Additionally, we have a WhatsApp group for all Class Coordinators to allow us to keep in contact and up to date with what is going on.

As per the recent Connect notice, we are ceasing use of the year group Facebook pages due to the declining number of people using Facebook.

This is not a tedious role, but one that will be crucial to your child’s class so we would be very appreciative to those who consider putting their hand up for this.
